Alison Healey for Harford County State's Attorney
Alison Healey's trial experience and victim advocacy is extraordinary and is not matched by her competitors in this election.
Alison Healey has built her legal career in Harford County - first as a prosecutor and then as a defense attorney. The experience on both sides gives her the required skills to lead the Harford County State's Attorney's Office. For over 12 years, Alison was a prosecutor in the Harford County State's Attorney's Office and rose as high as to the level of Senior Assistant State's Attorney.
For over six of those years, she supervised the Domestic Violence Unit and prosecuted some of the most violent offenders the Office encountered. In addition, she led and supervised trial teams of felony prosecutors and assisted with the training of new prosecutors to the office. Alison's trial experience with the Harford County State's Attorney's Office included all types of cases including Murder, Sexual Assault, Burglary, Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Dangerous Substances, First and Second Degree Assault, Driving Under the Influence, and much more. She has a proven track record of supporting and partnering with law enforcement to ensure that offenders are held accountable.
Alison Healey's trial experience and victim advocacy is extraordinary and is not matched by her competitors in this election. Alison Healey has a skill set which will allow her to run the State's Attorney's Office with competence and courage.
Contrarily, Alison’s opponent has demonstrated a significant failure in offender accountability and law enforcement support. In criminal cases in District Court in 2020, the conviction rate was only 26%, meaning that only 1 in 4 criminal suspects received a conviction. Additionally, in recent months, the Child Advocacy Center has investigated 315 cases of child abuse, both physical and sexual and child neglect, yet the State’s Attorney’s Office charged only 33 and obtained convictions on just 11. This is completely unacceptable. He does not maintain a high conviction rate, nor does he even charge the majority of child abuse suspects in Harford County. He won’t, I will.
In addition to these shocking statistics, under Alison’s opponent’s administration, the relationship between the State’s Attorney and law enforcement in Harford County has deteriorated significantly. He does not respect the value of law enforcement’s efforts and input in investigations. He won’t, I will. Because I will, many members of law enforcement support Alison Healey for Harford County State’s Attorney!
